Just a 90s Kid Who Never Grew Up....

So, I'm starting this blog because I got a very coveted (by my 9 year old self) gift for Christmas this year: an American Girl doll. And not just any doll. A Samantha doll- the one, I, as a kid, always wanted and never got.

She was a gift from my sweet boyfriend. And, delighted upon getting her, I immediately rushed to the internet to see if I was the only "weird" grown-up who loved American Girl. To my surprise and delight, I was not...not by a long shot. I found communities, blogs, and so much more...and well...it just inspired something in me.

I've always been a closet lover of toys. I was the girl who played with dolls and stuff until her friends picked on her for it, and, shame-faced and sad, I banished my toys to the attic, determined to "grow up." I've decided now that I'm in my early 30s, screw what anybody thinks. I like toys, darn it, and I like Samantha. Since getting her, I've ordered lots of dolls clothes...and even got my ancient Tyco Talking Doll House out of storage.

I think, in short, this is the start of a fun new journey...a journey back to childhood and a journey forward to self-acceptance.

To get things started off on the right foot, here are some New Year's Eve pictures I snapped of my pretty Sam today <3
